As it is in Chinese, the order is "rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon"... Why is it "cat" in Vietnamese horoscope? If possible any legend or link to a site with Vietnamese culture...

The question roots from the legend there mustn't be a cat among those animals because it liked to sleep late and the rat didn't wake it up so the cat didn't got the year... How come it got the year in Vietnamese culture?

Pets in Vietnam are popular for thousands of years. They keep dogs tp guard their houses and cats to protect food and rice from rats. That is why in Vietnamese culture, there are plenty of stories, legends and sayings, expressions related to Cats.

Well, about the horoscope, I remember a newspaper article said that in Buddhist legend, when Buddha died, many animals came to gather beside him. Among those who were not there was the Cat. So maybe the Chinese people don't like the Cat.
